Kintsugi Textile Art Gallery

The technique I use is inspired by Kintsugi which is the practice of treating repair or breakage of an object as part of its history. By accenting and filling in the cracks of the leaf marks I am paying homage to the leaf’s history as a whole living organism.  I print/dye the fabric with the leaves then dip it in indigo and rust. I choose which leaf marks to accent with inks. When completed the whole cloth is quilted in an all over free form leaf design.
